This dataset comprises temporally and spatially aligned cardiac computed tomography (CT) images of pigs, acquired both with and without contrast agents. It includes manual annotations of the full heart and the left ventricle.

Ten pigs were scanned longitudinally during their growth period, ranging from approximately 15 kg to 130 kg. Scans were performed using the Canon Alphenix 4D CT Interventional Suite and the Canon Aquilion One Genesis 320 Dual Energy/Spectral CT scanner.

The dataset is organized into six .tar archives, named AHFP-Round-1 to 6, each corresponding to one of six scanning rounds. Within each archive, data are structured by animal ID. For each animal, separate folders contain contrast-enhanced and non-contrast image series. In later scanning rounds, animals were imaged in different positions (e.g., stomach vs. back), and folder names reflect these positional variations.

Each scan consists of 10–11 3D volumes representing different phases of the cardiac cycle. These volumes are stored in NIfTI format (.nii.gz) [https://nifti.nimh.nih.gov/]. For most scans, the first (IM00001_ct.nii.gz) and fifth (IM00005_ct.nii.gz) time points, typically corresponding to diastole and systole, have been manually annotated based on the contrast-enhanced images. Annotation files follow the naming convention of their corresponding CT image, with _mask.nii.gz appended.

Due to the temporal and spatial alignment between contrast and non-contrast images, annotations derived from contrast-enhanced scans are also valid for non-contrast images. These labels have been adjusted accordingly and are stored alongside the non-contrast images using the same naming convention.

Additionally, each non-contrast folder includes a transformation matrix file (FinalTransformation.txt) that enables accurate mapping of segmentations from contrast-enhanced images to their non-contrast counterparts.
